The Westside Garden Club The Westside Garden Club administers the communal gardens located in the area on the west-side of the twin silos. All residents of Anglicare Castle Hill are eligible to apply for an allotment of land (“a plot”) on which to grow their own vegetables.
Membership of ‘The Club’ is a necessary pre-requesite, with an annual fee of $5. Club membership entitles residents to attend monthly meetings, join bus outings and use the propogation greenhouse as available. We meet at the Gatehouse at 10.00 am on the 4th Monday of the month. Further information will be in the Compendium.
An informal get-together, weather permitting, is held at the Communal Gardens 10-12noon on the last Saturday of the month.
The Westside Garden Club has access to an area of approximately one fifth part of one hectare (about !/2 an acre). This area is divided into more than 50 separate allotments and timbered edging separate these.
